Social Justice Philosophy
Social Justice to me means to be a person with no fear that is not scared to go and speak their mind when something is wrong or is out of place. As coming in to a school that was name social justice I believe that it meant government and laws and that all change in my second year of high school. As example when I was in my second year of high school I was part of a group of students that where showing social justice and organized a sit in in school and during it they were not scared to speak their mind out.
We have not achieved social justice yet because many people are still lacking the understanding of social justice. Another thing is that they still haven’t found their definition of social justice. As seen in the civil right movement there was a lot of people that didn’t really want to march for what was right because they were scared of speaking their mind. An example of life is that one day at school there was a problem that need to be addressed student gathered and made plans but no one was willing to execute the plan and it was not done. This is why we haven’t achieved social justice yet.
A technique that I use to achieve social justice is that I get involved with a group of people that really speak their mind out and then I speak my mind out and together we create a plan to execute the plan. Social justice will advance in my life time because many people today won’t speak their mind out but in the future their would be more willing people that would take advantage of their voice and use it like people in the past ones did. Historical example is Martin Luther King is a person that used it voice to make social justice possible.
A personal contribution to the struggle for social justice is last year I joined a group of student that where part of the student union. A we all were part of a march that took place in Daley plaza at downtown. The fire in me is watching people like me take action and speaking their mind out without fearing what comes with it. As my career it will reflect to social justice because as a mechanic in the automobile industry I will take the knowledge of social justice and make sure that I bring it on to the automobile industry.
